Debit Card Overdraft Protection

Avoid the untimely frustrations of declined debit card transactions with the convenience of Wescom’s Debit Card Overdraft Protection. When you opt in for Debit Card Overdraft Protection, we may approve your everyday debit card transactions even when you don’t have the money in your account.

Plus, when the funds deposited into your Wescom Checking Account are not immediately available, Debit Card Overdraft Protection enables us to authorize and pay your debit card transactions.

Why Is Opt-In Required?

A federal regulation requires checking account holders to opt in or actively agree to Debit Card Overdraft Protection before we can provide this service. If you don’t tell us you want this protection, we must deny debit card debit transactions when you don’t have enough funds in your account.

How Do I Opt In?

If you want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on everyday debit card transactions, you can easily opt in to coverage through any of the following options:
• Visit eBranch, click on Account Actions from the menu bar, select Debit Card Overdraft Protection, and submit your selection.

• Call 1-888-4WESCOM (1-888-493-7266)

Complete an Opt-In Form and present it at any Wescom branch.

Can We Help You Find Something?

Be The First To Know

Wescom provides members with the bells and whistles to keep tabs on account activity and avoid overdrafts.

• Account Alerts:  We can notify you via email or text alert when a check is deposited into your account or if your balance drops below a certain threshold.

• Mobile Banking: If you have an Apple® or Android™ phone, you can transfer money between accounts just as you would on your computer.

Avoiding Foreclosure

We understand that current economic conditions have made it difficult for many individuals and families to meet various financial obligations. Contact Wescom’s Homeowners Assistance Department to request help if you are struggling to keep up with mortgage payments. Whether your loan is with us or another lender, we’ll do everything we can to help you retain control of your home. The sooner you contact your lender, the more options you’ll have to avoid foreclosure.
