Wescom Credit Union General FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions and Help

A credit union is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by the people who use its services. These people are members. Credit unions serve groups that share something in common, such as where they work, live, or go to church. Credit unions are not-for-profit and exist to provide a safe, convenient place for members to save money and get loans at reasonable rates. Learn more about credit unions.

How can I protect my password?

Wescom does everything it can to safeguard your password, but whether you're using an ATM, Teller#Phone, or eBranch, you play an essential role in keeping your password safe. Here are a few tips for keeping your password safe:

  1. Don't use easy-to-guess information such as your name, date of birth, telephone number, address, and so on.
  2. Where possible, use a combination of letters and numbers in your password. Those types of passwords are harder to guess. A good rule is not to use any word found in a dictionary. Also, don't use repeated or easily guessed numeric values (e.g., 1111 or 1234).
  3. Don't write your password down.
  4. Don't include your password in any file, including a word-processing document, web page or an electronic mail message. (If anyone else reveals a password to you, delete the information promptly.)
  5. Avoid using the same password on different systems. If an unauthorized user gets your password, he could gain access to every system on which you're using that password.
  6. Change your password regularly.
  7. Do not leave your computer unattended after you log in to eBranch, and be sure to log out when you're finished.
