Piggy Gives Thanks
It's almost time for Thanksgiving — the time of year when we gather to eat with family and friends and give thanks for everything we have. But this year, Piggy and his family want to show gratitude by helping others.
"I can't wait to eat stuffing and mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner, Mom," said Piggy.
"Yes, but you know Piggy, there is much more to Thanksgiving than just eating," Piggy's mom said.
"The first Thanksgiving was a celebration of thankfulness. The Pilgrims were so thankful that the Native Americans taught them how to farm and grow crops, that they all came together to share a meal and give thanks."
"They all became friends," said Piggy.
"Let's do something good for other people this Thanksgiving, just like the Native American and Pilgrims."
"That sounds like a great idea, Piggy," Piggy's mom said.
Piggy and his family went on to donate clothing and food to their local shelter, and volunteered to serve Thanksgiving dinner to less fortunate individuals in their community.
